Armstrong has an opening for a Graphite Technician on the first shift. Armstrong Rapid Manufacturing has been in business for over 50 years in the East Syracuse NY area. Armstrong specializes in both prototyped and low volume production machined castings. The Salary Range for our Graphite Technician job is $16.00-$16.75 per hour. Refer to the job description below :
Summary / Objective : Molds and finishes graphite die cast parts.
Job Responsibilities
- Sets-up, loads and degasses furnaces to melt down various metals ensuring melts
- are held at specified temperatures
- Uses ladle to pour metal into mold and removes casting after specified cooling
- period
- Conducts first piece inspection of parts followed by periodic in process checks
- Operates band saw to remove gates and uses fixtures, templates, hammers,
- grinders, etc to straighten and finish castings to customer specifications
- Uses various tools and methods to check part specifications
- Completes and / or maintains required reports and records
- Meets quality and quantity standards for the position.
- Proactively supports the ISO process approach to quality management and the Syteline MIS system.
- Adheres to all safety policies and practices, consistently uses personal protective equipment and practices good housekeeping.
- Maintains regular on time attendance and adheres to company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.
- Maintains a positive professional approach with all internal and external controls.
- Applies classroom and on the job post training information, knowledge, skills, and abilities consistently in a quality-oriented manner (wherein the KSAs are part of the jobs tasks, duties and other tasks as requested).
- Performs other tasks as directed.
Educational, Experience Based, and Skill Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and 6 months experience preferred
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift up to and including 35 pounds. as needed.
