Purpose
Our company is currently looking for an experienced Purchasing Manager to take over our purchasing operations. We're looking for a product-savvy professional who has experience in the manufacturing/construction industry. Responsibilities
- Develop and execute procurement strategies across all channels of purchasing.
- Utilize our inventory/purchasing software program
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
- Seek, research and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers and cultivate relationships
- Negotiate vendor pricing on behalf of the company
- Track all shipments of materials from the initial purchase to delivery
- Review all vendor invoices to ensure pricing is correct, matches to the purchase order and receive into inventory within 24 hours of receipt.
- Develop initiatives and creative methods to ensure reduction of procurement costs to the minimum possible levels while ensuring appropriate standards are maintained.
- Execute contract agreements, including Terms and Conditions, to lock-in favorable prices, guarantee delivery and negotiate favorable payment terms.
- Ensure each line item in the PO is linked to the correct job.
- Maintain proper levels of inventory while taking advantage of bulk rates and maximizing freight loads.
- Independently ensure orders are placed in a timely manner and that logistics can support required deliveries.
- Other duties as required.
Skills/Abilities
- 5 years of experience.
- Effective analytical skills, contract negotiation and management.
- Must have experience with negotiating high dollar volumes.
- Ability to produce, review, and maintain internal reporting.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Good communicator verbally and written.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work with tight deadlines.
- Emphasis on customer service.
- Ability to work effectively with others in a team environment.
- Strong prioritization skills and the ability to perform multiple tasks.
