Position Summary
The Site Acquisition and Permitting Specialist position will coordinate the acquisition, deployment, and activation of telecommunication facilities sites, identify permitting requirements related to site deployment along with other general construction permitting needs, and coordinate with applicable departments and project managers to ensure projects are completed on time and on budget.
Responsibilities
- Expert level knowledge of site acquisition and deployment, including, but not limited to – land acquisition, local site permitting, site preparation and construction, and equipment installation and activation.
- Actively coordinates between parties to resolve delays quickly and efficiently during the life cycle of the acquisition and permitting, Including Legal, Finance, local systems, Engineering, and Project Managers
- Assist or oversee completion of Zoning and Permit applications for submittal to jurisdictions and coordinates the process with counsel and vendors for acquisitions.
- Coordinate, order, and track titles, surveys, environmental reports, lease exhibits, projects, and programs concerning permitting; continues to monitor for integrity and completeness.
- May serve as a point of contact for the community and/or government agencies.
- Performs on the field ride-out/walk-out of project sites for surveying, gathering and recording details, finding solutions, monitoring progress, and, performing post-construction review
- Coordinates all phases of construction projects, including pre-construction meetings, site surveys, permit and license applications
- Coordination of any fees required for zoning and permitting fees, etc.
- Communicate all issues to management before reaching critical status
- Request road work and/or road cut permits from the DOT and Municipalities
- This position requires working in a variety of conditions, from temperature-controlled offices to outside elements
- Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s), and overtime as necessary
- Extended sitting, standing, and kneeling may be required
- Occasional lifting of more than 20 pounds may be required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent applicable experience
- Minimum 5 yrs. of telecommunications experience
- At least two years of site acquisition, site deployment, right-of-way acquisition, and permitting experience (Required) with knowledge of state/city permitting requirements
- Excellent computer/reporting skills, including a high level of proficiency with MS Excel and other databases/project management tracking tools
- Highly organized self-starter, able to multi-task and work effectively with limited supervision with, tight deadlines, and a high volume of projects
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic problem-solving environment
- Customer service orientation with a robust problem-solving approach
- Demonstrates knowledge of blueprint and design principles as it relates to mapping, design, and standards and specifications (Preferred)
- Maintain all related documentation
- Able to take direction and willing to work alone when needed
- Organized and able to process large amounts of data promptly
- Must possess a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a desire to learn
- Construction knowledge (preferred)
- Must be able to travel
