Reporting to the Senior Manager, Business Solutions, the Business Solutions Analyst is an individual contributor responsible for providing the highest level of technical expertise for the development, specification, and communication of the enterprise digital/technology plans, the components required to support it, and in the integration of corporate and business area architectures. The successful analyst leads multiple projects for the assigned area, conducts business process/cultivation sessions, and develops innovative and effective solutions for diverse and complex business problems/opportunities. The role is broadly split between business relationship management, providing day-to-day operational support for existing application services to users of those services, and project-based work leading to the development and deployment of new application services and business process improvements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Performs business relationship management functions in the Supply Chain/Production Planning/Plant Maintenance/Manufacturing/Materials Management focus areas.- Leads / participates in the design, development, and enhancement of business-specific custom and standard applications.
- Leads / participates in requirements gathering to provide technical guidance on systems options and solutions.
- Promotes configuration/development changes through the environment (i.e., writes functional specifications, performs and/or coordinates testing, obtains customer approvals and supporting documentation, and supports the promotion of code/configuration to production) to meet the company’s business objectives.
- Manages/coordinates large, medium, and small systems or business projects.
- Introduces innovative technologies to the company to meet changing business needs.
- Provides guidance and direction to contractors and junior team members.
- Acts as principal designer for major enterprise solutions architecture including applications, data, and infrastructure as assigned.
- Develops and manages relationships with vendors in support of staff augmentation and systems support in concert with Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) process.
- Develops, implements, and maintains best-practice standards, policies, procedures, and associated training plans to ensure optimal daily operations are maintained.
- Provides integrated functional and systems planning and roadmap development; recommends new or different technologies which will enhance current systems and support overall corporate and business goals.
- Leads and directs multiple projects, identifying and managing resources and monitoring progress.
- Establishes/maintains lines of communication with stakeholders with a view to keeping all parties informed of incidents, problems, and resolutions.
- Identifies opportunities to improve global standardization and organizational efficiencies.
- Serves as a point of escalation for team members’ issues requiring a higher degree of expertise or discretion to resolve and ensure timely resolution of issues by focusing on root cause analysis and implementing corrective action plans.
- Assists in the development of IT area and project budgets and estimates, for both expense and capital.
- Provides in-depth technical consultation to clients and IT management to ensure the development of efficient application systems utilizing established standards, procedures, and methodologies.
- Works collaboratively with management to identify, evaluate and prioritize projects in the portfolio.
- Contributes to the development of overall strategy, tactics, planning, and execution of initiatives to support IT services.
- Documents and maintains necessary technical architecture design and analysis work, including project post-mortem documentation and metric collection to ensure alignment between the business strategies and the technology roadmap.
- Develops and maintains disaster recovery plans, including documenting solutions and procedures.

Qualifications

- In-depth understanding of the integrated processes associated with Procurement, Transfer orders, Sales and Distribution, Shipments and Deliveries, Production Planning to Line Scheduling, Available to Promise, Freight Rating and Tendering, Inventory Management, Output Documents, Warehouse Management processes, and corresponding business reporting.
- Strong technical grasp of application architecture preferred in a manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of technologies commonly utilized in a manufacturing environment.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical details in business language and relate technical concepts to a business impact.
- Ability to build relationships and willingness to communicate with customer groups.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field required.- 3 years of technical analysis or process management experience.
- Significant configuration experience with SAP Production Planning, Materials Management, Logistics, Inventory Management, Plant maintenance, and related master data.
- Direct experience with global and regional system implementations.
- Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office products.
- Demonstrated experience in the area of assigned responsibility.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Certification in either a process discipline (ITIL, PMI, Six Sigma) or technical discipline (SAP, Data Warehousing) is preferred.

About the Location (Hilliard OH)
Our Hilliard Plant, one of twelve Armstrong plants in North America, employs 100 people across multiple shifts who are involved in the manufacturing and shipping of acoustical ceiling tile.
