The Internet Operations Technician will be involved in the entire lifecycle of all managed devices used to bring our internet service into the customers’ homes. They will also be involved in related projects to increase troubleshooting capabilities, assist with creating best practices for our field and support teams, and strive to make Armstrong’s Internet Service the best experience possible.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Test, upgrade, and implement new and existing Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) for Armstrong’s cable, PON, and DSL networks
- Integrate new CPE into existing provisioning platforms
- Create and update test plans and documentation as needed
- Provide next level support for the NOC, tech support, and the field technicians as needed
- Communicate effectively with vendors, other departments, and management
- Perform maintenance window activities as required
- Must be available as part of an on-call rotation
- Occasional travel within Armstrong’s footprint is required
- Associates degree or equivalent technical education preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of operational or similar technical industry experience
- An understanding of the following protocols: DHCP, DNS, DOCSIS and GPON/XGSPON
- Familiarity with Auto-Configuration Server (ACS) related protocols: TR-069, TR-181, TR-369
- Firm understanding of WiFi networks
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Must be well organized and able to manage several projects at once
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytic mind with solid troubleshooting fundamentals
- Proficient PC skills and a working knowledge of MS Office applications
- Comfortable working in a Linux (Red Hat) environment
