**About the Position:** The Army Installation Management Command is seeking a qualified Kitchen Professional to join our team at Fort Wainwright, Alaska. As a key member of our food service program, you will be responsible for assisting in the planning and implementation of a comprehensive food service program that meets the needs of our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement a comprehensive food service program that aligns with the policies and procedures of the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals using standard recipes and ingredients.
- Work closely with Food and Nutrition Specialists to develop menus and place food orders.
- Provide on-the-job training to new kitchen staff members and serve as a consultant to youth cooking clubs/health and fitness programs.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment by adhering to risk management procedures.
Qualifications:
- At least 6 months of experience working in a professional kitchen environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written).
- Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
