Job Description:
This position is located at the West Point MWR Arts & Crafts Center. The official title for this role is Engraving Machine Operator NA-06, while the working title is Frame and Design Specialist NA-06.
The ideal candidate will possess comparable work experience in engraving and framing, with a strong understanding of tools and machinery common to picture framing and engraving. Key responsibilities include:
- Setting up and operating engraving machines to produce custom projects for patrons
- Making adjustments to machine setup as needed, such as readjusting for different sizes or shapes
- Utilizing specialized computer-based equipment for engraving and framing
The successful applicant will also provide customer consultations, safety instruction, and demonstrate safe use of equipment. Additionally, they will participate in special events to market engraving/framing services and compile orders with vendors for materials and supplies.
The requirements for this position include:
- Comparable work experience that demonstrates knowledge, skills, and ability to carry out the duties
- Skill in using hand tools and machinery common to picture framing and engraving
- Ability to interpret work orders, written instructions, and diagrams
- Knowledge of properties of materials being utilized
