This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position : To learn more : https : / / home.army.mil / mccoy / index.php / my-fort / newcomers Responsibilities Perform a broad range of law enforcement, investigation, crime prevention, traffic control, and community policing. Respond to and investigate offences against persons and property. Respond to volatile situations. Question and apprehend suspects utilizing the appropriate level of authorized force. Investigate traffic accidents and interview subjects with knowledge of the accident or incident. Conduct traffic and security patrols to enforce federal, state, Department of Defense, Department of the Army and local regulations. Perform operational and administrative duties. Write incident and activity reports. Direct, escort, and protect VIPs and visitors. Provide installation access control. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. GS-06 Specialized Experience : One year of specialized experience which includes work utilizing basic laws and regulations to maintain order and protect life and property; conducting vehicle or foot patrols; controlling access to restricted areas by verifying credentials; responding to calls for assistance; or conducting personal or vehicle searches. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade / level position in the federal service (GS-05). GS-07 Specialized Experience : One year of specialized experience which includes work utilizing laws and regulations to maintain order and protect life and property; responding to calls for police assistance and emergency situations; arresting and mirandizing suspects; conducting investigations of crimes and suspected criminal activities; conducting vehicle or foot patrols; writing reports; or conducting personal or vehicle searches. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade / level position in the federal service (GS-06). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
