Job Title: CYS Services Supervisory Program Specialist
Location: Fort Riley, KS
About the Position:
This position is responsible for supervising a minimum of 8 ratios of children 0 - 5 in a Child Development Center (Ages 0-5) or 6 ratios of children/youth in a School-Age Program or Youth Center IAW.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Works in-ratio 50% of the time providing breaks for assigned staff, modeling appropriate behavior, and providing program oversight and accountability during all hours of program operation.
• Assists Director with requests for recruitments utilizing Army CYS Standard Position Descriptions.
• Supervises and evaluates employees based on established performance standards as required.
• Ensures timely submission of personnel actions.
• Prepares work schedules to meet ratio and group size requirements.
• Monitors and analyzes adult/participant ratio sheets to ensure proper staffing.
• Ensures children/youth are appropriately supervised at all times.
• Acts as Director in Director's absence up to 20% of the time.
Requirements:
• A bachelor's degree or higher that included or was supplemented by major study in the fields of child development, early childhood education, home economics, elementary education, special education or other fields appropriate to the position.
• Experience supervising or leading caregivers within child/youth facility-based programs.
• Experience managing a classroom setting within child and youth programs.
• Experience implementing and overseeing a structured child and youth program curriculum.
• Demonstrated verbal communication skills gained through conducting training, delivering presentations, conducting meetings with parents and/or staff, or similar.
Additional Information:
• Proof of education is required at the time of application.
• Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized.
• Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
• Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
