Army Navy Country Club is seeking a Part-Time Golf Shop Attendant!
The Golf Shop Attendant is responsible to support the daily activities of the golf operation (specific to the facility of primary assignment), to promote an exceptional experience for all players and customers, to deliver the quality of service and program support so as to meet the expectations of the membership and to achieve the objectives of management. Further, as the Retail Assistant, the individual is charged with the responsibility to maximize sales and profitability of the golf shop operations by ensuring that proper inventory control procedures are in place / followed, actively promoting sales through promotion, inventory rotation & visual display techniques, by monitoring / following up on all special orders that originate at the facility and by training other staff members with regards to sales techniques & product knowledge.
Qualifications
· Strong fundamentals
· Basic knowledge of golf operational management practices, starting systems & methods, tournament operation, and current industry equipment trends is desirable but not required.
· Requires some administrative and executive skills suitable for dealing with staff scheduling, training and supervision.
· Requires excellent oral and written communication skills.
· Requires basic computer skills, including some word processing and spreadsheet functions as well as familiarity with industry specific software applications for inventory control, point of sale functions, golf handicap and tournament management.
Specific Functions & Responsibilities
· Provide excellent customer service, professional advice and assistance to members, guests and fellow staff.
· Control and manage play, ensure guest check-in and fee collection in coordination with the starter.
· Train golf shop personnel with regard to sales techniques and product knowledge.
· Assist in the purchasing, receipt, display, inventory control, promotion and sales of merchandise.
· Be available as required / scheduled to perform all job functions, including the counting and recording of physical inventory from time to time.
· Conduct oneself in a professional manner and maintain a professional image at all times.
· Be informed on, and promote all club activities and services.
· Assist in operation of tournaments and outings.
· Support in the enforcement of all rules and regulations governing golf course / facility usage.
· Other duties as assigned by the Head Golf Professional, Director of Golf or General Manager.
Hours of Operations: Monday- Sunday 6:30 AM-9 PM
This is a seasonal position.
This job is a civilian position and does not require military service (including commission and enlistment)
