What are the responsibilities and job description for the Support Coach Swim position at Army Navy Country Club?
- Support the total swim team swimming program as set forth by the AGM, Aquatics and the Aquatics Committee of the Army Navy Country Club (ANCC). This program shall include all swimmers participating on the Army Navy Country Club swim team with constant communication and partnering between you, the head swim coach and your coaching peers
- Promote the concepts of sportsmanship, teamwork and leadership among all swimmers. Conduct self at practice sessions and meets in a manner which shall uphold the pride and image of Army Navy Country Club
- Conduct all scheduled swim team practices and attend all meets throughout the Country Club Swimming and Diving Association (CCSDA) season. Scheduled swim team practices shall be held daily (Mon-Fri) at ANCC ARL
- Attend and participate in such other meetings and swim/dive team social events as mutually agreed upon with the AGM, Aquatics and Aquatics Committee, to include Pep Rallies and end of season awards banquet
- Under the supervision of the Head Swim Team Coach, make necessary preparations for practices and swim meets. This includes pool set-up and take down, as needed
- Wear proper attire consistent with ANCC rules when conducting practices, clinics, and lessons. ANCC coach’s shirts will be provided by the Club and are required during all swim team meets and swim team events
- In coordination with the entire coaching staff, identify to the Aquatics Committee candidates for individual swimming awards during the season
- Ability to provide Group, Semi-Private, 1:1 lessons to ANCC members. All opportunities will be advertised through the Aquatics Office.
Additional details:
- Swim team practices begin the day after Memorial Day and conclude the end of July.
- Generally, swim meets are conducted on Tuesday/Thursday evenings with some exceptions throughout the season.
- Rates for swim lessons are at the discretion of the instructor and with the approval of the AGM.
This job is a civilian position and does not require military service (including commission and enlistment)
