About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team at the Army Tank-Automotive and Armament Command (TACOM). As a Machinist, you will be responsible for performing machining operations using conventional and Computerized Numerical Control (CNC) machine tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performing setup processes and operating CNC, manual, and precision measurement equipment on raw stock.
- Setting up and operating a variety of machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders, or saws.
- Interpreting blueprints, drawings, and sketches.
- Performing precision handiwork to finish, fit, and assemble machined parts.
Requirements:
- Able to do the work of a Machinist without more than normal supervision.
- Ability to perform machining operations using close tolerances.
- Working knowledge of tooling required to produce features, tolerances, and surface finishes to specifications.
