As an Engineering Detailer, you’ll play a key role in transforming design concepts into precise, production-ready documentation. Specific expectations of a Detailer may include but not limited to:
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain detailed construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications that reflect design intent and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to align drawings with project goals, technical specifications, and timelines.
- Review and revise design documents to ensure buildability, regulatory compliance, and alignment with company standards.
- Prepare complete job packets for shop floor use, including Quality Control documentation, shipping lists, and other relevant details.
- Maintain a high level of drawing accuracy to eliminate the need for operational rework.
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of the estimating process and the scope of work being proposed.
- Generate accurate and timely bills of materials for each project.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in steel and concrete structural detailing and creating shop drawings.
- Proven experience drafting documentation related to metal fabrication, welding, blasting and painting, and inspection.
- Proficient in AutoCAD (2016 or newer) and SolidWorks.
- Solid understanding of steel fabrication processes and construction industry standards.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with other design software tools.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail and deadlines.
