Direct Support Professionals provide support to individuals with disabilities in their homes, community, and employment settings. Direct support may involve physical assistance with activities of daily living (cooking, cleaning, dressing, hygiene, transportation) and ensuring the individual's safety. Direct support also includes providing emotional support for an individual, including acceptance, encouragement, and reassurance. A Direct Support Professional fills a critical role in the life of an individual with a disability because they offer and ensure assistance and role modeling that encourages independence and community inclusion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Providing the appropriate level of supervision and training to ensure well-being, health and safety.
- Administration of medications when required
- Assisting with public transportation
- Ability to complete CPR/First Aid
- Documenting activities
- Attend and participate in events, workshops, training, and meetings
- Assist with planning and implementation of daily activities; social and employment
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.85 per hour
