Based in Houston, AI’s appellate section handles high-stakes appeals in federal and state appeals courts across the country, as well as complex litigation in federal and state trial courts across the country.

Location:
- Houston or Dallas preferred; but remote candidates will be considered.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Member in good standing of a UBE state bar.
- Judicial clerkship (federal or state) required.
- Minimum one year of appellate experience (may include judicial clerkship).
- Bar licensure in Texas, or ability to become licensed in Texas.
- Excellent writing, analytical, organizational, and oral advocacy skills.
- Ability to work independently, effectively, and efficiently without significant supervision.
- Ability to keep track of and complete assignments on time.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Thrive on obtaining favorable results.
- Willing to work extended hours as needed to accommodate caseload demands.
Duties:
- Drafting appellate briefs and in state and federal appeals courts.
- Drafting complex motions and responses in state and federal trial courts.
- Oral advocacy in state and federal trial and appellate courts.
- Assisting trial lawyers in legal aspects of pre-trial and trial practice, including jury charges/verdict forms.
- Analyzing complex legal issues and developing strategies.
- Special projects assigned by management.
