Job Summary
The Distribution Center (DC) Team Lead is responsible for overseeing many daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient workflow, and maintaining high levels of accuracy in inventory management, order fulfillment, and shipping processes. The role requires strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills to optimize distribution efficiency while upholding company policies and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Oversee and coordinate daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping orders.
- Monitor workflow and adjust staff assignments as needed to maintain efficiency and meet deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality control measures.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through proper storage, cycle counting, and stock management practices.
- Will be the immediate back up for when the Distribution Manager is not onsite.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and enforce proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Identify and report potential hazards, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of warehouse areas to prevent accidents.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, fulfillment time, and productivity metrics.
- Identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements to management.
- Ensure all shipments are properly documented and meet customer requirements.
- Assist in the implementation of new warehouse technologies and systems
- At least three years of progressively responsible related work in a Distribution Center/warehouse, preferably with at least two years of supervisory experience
- Proven high degree of organizational skills and strong problem resolution capacities
- A positive attitude with strong communication skills
- A passion for understanding and meeting the needs of our customers!
- Experience with Excel is strongly preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent
Physical/Other Requirements
- Regularly lifting of a minimum of 50 pounds
- Standing, lifting, twisting, bending, walking and sitting
- Ability to operate freight-handling equipment
- Basic computer proficiency; ability to utilize telephone
