Position Overview
This position reports to the Terminal Manager. The Logistics Manager is responsible for providing a positive customer service to customers, ensuring deliveries are scheduled accordingly and in a timely manner, equipping drivers with the necessary documents needed to make a delivery, making sure said paperwork is turned in at the end of the day, along with keeping track of inventory in fuel bulk tanks and warehouse. The Logistics Manager is also responsible for managing all operational activities, including efficiency, productivity and compliance. Responsibilities include ensuring the smooth operation of the terminal as well as coordinating, directing, and managing day-to-day activities.
Primary Job Functions
The primary job functions include, but are not limited to:
- Dispatch drivers (scheduling of driver daily work load) through the use of PDI
- Provide excellent customer service
- Answer all incoming phone calls within three (3) rings
- Conducting phone sales
- Entering data through the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
- Responsible for fuel inventory control
- Conducts daily audits of driver logs, paperwork, and in the warehouse)
- Responsible for shipping, receiving, and repackaging of products when necessary
- Assist drivers with loading and unloading of product when necessary
- Scheduling of stationary fuel tank, Schaffer totes, oil and lubes delivery, or pick up
- Assist in the scheduling and maintaining of records of equipment maintenance
- Responsible for the enforcement of DOT compliance
- Enforcing of all Company rules and regulations
- Recruit and hire new employees
- Manage drivers and administrative staff, including job performance
- Coach and provide progressive discipline
- Handle employee concerns, complaints and issues promptly and courteously
- Drive employee engagement and recognition
