Pay Rate: $70,000 - $75,000 annually
Job Description:
As the Director of Environmental Services, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing all housekeeping and maintenance operations at Arnold Walter Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. This includes ensuring cleanliness, sanitation, and a safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
Responsibilities:
- Housekeeping Operations: Develop and manage housekeeping programs, policies, and schedules. Conduct weekly inspections and ensure high standards of quality control.
- Maintenance Oversight: Establish and monitor preventive maintenance programs. Supervise maintenance staff and ensure all systems (e.g., boilers, compressors, generators) are operational.
- Compliance: Ensure the facility adheres to all safety regulations, infection control policies, and building codes. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
- Reporting: Provide weekly reports to the Administrator, submit accident reports, and document any facility damage.
- Staff Management: Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise housekeeping and maintenance personnel. Conduct performance evaluations and maintain a productive working environment.
- Budget Management: Assist in preparing the department’s budget, manage expenditures, and ensure cost-efficiency.
- Safety and Sanitation: Oversee fire protection, ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations, and provide staff with proper safety equipment.
- Resident Relations: Ensure housekeeping and maintenance activities respect resident rights and comply with HIPAA regulations. Address any complaints or grievances.
- Committee Involvement: Actively participate in various facility committees such as Infection Control, Safety, and Quality Assurance.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years' supervisory experience in a hospital or related medical facility.
- Knowledge of environmental control practices, building codes, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to work harmoniously with other personnel.
- Must understand the English language and be licensed in accordance with applicable standards and regulations.
- Proficiency in WhatsApp for internal communications.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be flexible and able to make independent decisions when necessary.
- Ability to handle emergencies and reschedule work as needed.
- Must participate in all required facility group communications and training programs.
