What are the responsibilities and job description for the Office Assistant - Stroke Center position at Arnot Health?
7AM - 3:30PM Monday through Friday
MAIN FUNCTION:
Enters charges for individual accounts and assists with claim processing. Provides clerical support as required for the Wound Center.
1. Answers telephones and gives information to patients/callers, takes messages or transfers calls to appropriate individuals.**
2. Greets patients/visitors; handles their inquiries and directs them to appropriate persons/departments to asssist with their needs.**
3. Registers patients correct medical, demographic and insurance information into AOMCs Sorian system by obtaining, entering and scanning patients information into the AOMC program.**
4. Schedules patients appointments into Wound Center calendar.**
5. Schedules patients medical testing, consults, etc.**
6. Maintains providers schedules.**
7. Makes copies of correspondence and other printed materials.**
8. Sets up and maintains paper patient charts with correspondences, test results, physician orders and other materials.**
9. Conducts searches on Quadra-med and E-Clinical for needed patient information.**
10. Files medical charts, medical documentation.**
11. Schedules new patient intakes and obtains required information from other doctor/hospital offices.**
12. Enters patient charges into Quadra-med.**
13. Operates office equipment such as fax machines, copiers, phone systems, and use of computers for word processing and other applications.**
14. Performs routine clerical duties.**
15. Is responsible for attending all annual mandatory educational programs as required by position.**
16. Employee understands and demonstrates the importance of satisfying the needs of the Customer/patient by interacting with him/her in a friendly and caring way, being attentive to the customers needs, both psychologically and physically, and by taking the initiative to maintain communication with the customer in order to provide a secure and pleasant experience with the Medical Center.**

EDUCATION:
High school graduate, working knowledge of MS Work, MS Excel, knowledge of mechanics of data entry.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience in data entry/computer skills.
CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION (CPR) REQUIREMENTS:
No CPR required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Light physical effort, routine office work.
EXPOSURE CATEGORY:
Category III Task that involve no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues. Category I tasks are not a condition of employment.
