Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Logistics Manager to oversee the transportation, distribution, and storage of materials and products for our fragrance manufacturing company. The Logistics Manager will be responsible for ensuring the efficient movement of raw materials, packaging, and finished fragrance products from suppliers to the production facility, and from the manufacturing site to retailers or customers. This role is crucial in maintaining a seamless supply chain, reducing costs, and ensuring that the company meets its delivery schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supply Chain Coordination:
- Oversee the planning and execution of all logistics operations, including inbound and outbound transportation, warehousing, and distribution of materials and finished products.
- Collaborate with procurement and production to ensure the timely availability of raw materials and products.
- Transportation Management:
- Develop and maintain relationships with logistics providers, freight forwarders, and carriers to ensure cost-effective and timely deliveries.
- Optimize transportation routes to minimize costs and enhance delivery efficiency while ensuring compliance with all regulations and customs requirements.
- Warehouse Management:
- Oversee the efficient operation of warehousing activities, including the receipt, storage, and dispatch of materials and finished goods.
- Ensure the proper organization of inventory and facilitate the smooth operation of order fulfillment processes.
- Cost Control & Budgeting:
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate logistics operations, identify areas for improvement, and implement cost-saving measures.
- Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure that all logistics activities comply with relevant local and international regulations, including safety standards, transportation laws, and environmental guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of shipping documentation, customs paperwork, and inventory data.
- Team Management:
- Lead, train, and develop the shipping team, ensuring adherence to operational standards, safety procedures, and company policies.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and high-performance within the team.
- Problem Solving & Troubleshooting:
- Address any logistical issues or delays, implementing solutions to prevent disruptions in the supply chain.
- Respond to customer or client complaints regarding delivery issues and ensure prompt resolution.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role. Manufacturing or fragrance industry is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage large volumes of orders, shipments, and documentation without sacrificing accuracy.
- Proven ability to manage multiple shipping deadlines and coordinate shipments efficiently across various channels and regions.
- Strong knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to the handling, packaging, and shipping of fragrance materials (e.g., hazardous materials, flammable substances).
- Familiarity with labeling, packaging, and transportation compliance requirements for different regions (e.g., IATA for air shipping, DOT for hazardous materials).
- Experience in working under pressure, especially during peak seasons or when managing high volumes of shipments.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and safety standards related to the transportation and storage of materials, including hazardous substances
