The Receiving Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the efficient and accurate receipt of goods within our distribution center. Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the receiving team to ensure efficient operations.
- Oversee the unloading of incoming shipments, verifying quantities and inspecting for damage.
- Utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to track inventory levels and manage stock locations.
- Ensure all received goods are properly packaged and labeled according to company standards.
- Maintain accurate records of received items, including data entry into MRP systems.
- Train and develop team members on best practices for receiving processes and equipment operation.
- Implement safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve discrepancies and improve overall efficiency.
Experience
- Proven experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment is essential.
- Familiarity with operating equipment such as reach trucks, order pickers, and pallet jacks.
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles and practices.
- Basic math skills are required for accurate inventory counting and reporting.
- Experience with MRP systems and warehouse management software is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead a team effectively.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and attention to detail are critical for success in this role.
