Role Description
APRC is seeking a highly motivated Scientist to join our team in a full-time on-site role as an Laboratory Technician - Analytical at our new location in Salt Lake City, UT. The role involves conducting quality control tests, utilizing analytical skills, operating laboratory equipment, and applying general laboratory skills in the analysis and testing of essential oils, medicinal cannabis, and supplements. This role offers plenty of opportunity to deliver impactful results and grow in a hands-on small company setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform physical and chemical testing on all samples received by our laboratory.
- Diligently follow testing procedures in a timely, clear, and organized manner.
- Operate, calibrate, and perform basic maintenance/troubleshooting on analytical instruments.
- Accurately execute testing per applicable written procedures and methods, such as HPLC, LC-MS, GC-MS, Culturing, Wet Lab Extractions, and PCR.
- Fill out laboratory documentation accurately and document work in a timely, clear, and organized manner.
- Collaborate closely with clients to define testing requirements, deliver results, and provide expert insights into data interpretation.
- Aid in reviewing data, laboratory notebooks, test results, and SOPs for accuracy and clarity.
- Capable of multitasking and prioritizing tasks to ensure turnaround times are met.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in physical or life sciences with emphasis in Analytical Chemistry or Biochemistry
- Strong attention to detail, sense of organization, and self motivation skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment to support business needs
- Knowledge of essential oils or supplements and their properties is a plus
- Previous wet lab experience with analytical instrumentation is preferred
- Must be 21 years of age and able to pass a government background check
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour (negotiable based on experience)
