What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substance Use Disorder Counselor - Temp position at Aroostook Mental Health Services, Inc.?
AMHCs is looking for a Substance Use Disorder Counselor at the Machias Outpatient office. The SUD Counselor is responsible for establishing a strong clinical relationship with individuals seeking substance use assessment and treatment interventions to begin their recovery process. The goal is to positively engage the client and work directly with referral sources, and the community about different treatment interventions that have shown to be successful with the client’s clinical presentation. The Substance Use Disorder Counselor will offer a dynamic intervention with the substance user and/or their families, and advocate to access community resources that offer a coordinated effort to support the substance user in meeting their individual treatment goals. The chosen candidate will be expected to demonstrate the core values of AMHC by showing Integrity, Compassion, Excellence, Service, Collaboration, and Respect to co-workers, clients, and community members.
Responsibilities & Expectations:
- Provide Compassionate bio-psycho-social services that demonstrate Respect to clients, client's families, and the community
- Offer co-occurring services to individuals as needed demonstrating AMHC's Service focus treatment by creating individualized plans.
- Develop and maintain Collaborative relationships to continue cooperative relationships with providers and the community
- Demonstrative AMHC's Integrity by providing case management functions to continue all services with Excellence
- Provide Compassionate individual, group, and family counseling for clients, family, and the community.
Schedule:
- This is a temporary Per diem position
- Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: At least 1 year of formal or life experience related to substance use counseling.
- Certifications: CADC (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor) or LADC (Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor) is preferred.
- Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field
