Description

Overall Responsibility:

The MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating all MEP-related activities in construction projects. This role ensures that all MEP systems are designed, installed, and function according to project specifications, timelines, and budgets.

Responsible for analyzing plans and performing inspections, as well as providing input on the installation process and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. This involves ensuring equipment meets all building codes and safety regulations, and that necessary modifications are implemented.

Also responsible for staying abreast of changes in the industry and the latest advancements in engineering, as well as proposing solutions to existing problems. Candidate will be required to collaborate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders.

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate with design and construction teams to develop detailed MEP plans.
  • Review and approve MEP designs, shop drawings, and submittals.
  • Ensure compliance with all building codes and regulations.
  • Oversee the installation and testing of MEP systems.
  • Monitor project progress and address any MEP-related issues.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders.

Qualifications

Needed Skills:

Must Have a Deep Understanding Of Mechanical, Electrical, And Plumbing Systems And The Ability To Work On Them Independently, As Well As Excellent Communication And Problem-solving Skills, And An Eye For Detail And Accuracy. Skills And Qualifications Include:

  • Analytical skill: The ability to analyze and interpret plans accurately for effective implementation.
  • Problem-solving skill: The ability to identify mechanical, electrical, and plumbing problems and propose effective solutions.
  • Communication skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organizational skills: Ability to prioritize tasks and remain focused in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to create and maintain productive relationships with employees, clients, and vendors.

Education/Experience Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in MEP coordination or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes and construction standards.
  • Excellent project management and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MEP software and AutoCAD.
