Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Sterile Processing Technician for a contract position in Waterloo, IA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for cleaning, sterilizing, and maintaining surgical instruments and equipment in a fast-paced hospital setting.
Responsibilities:
- Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment.
- Operate sterilization machines such as autoclaves and sterilizers.
- Ensure compliance with infection control and sterilization protocols.
- Maintain accurate sterilization records and inventory management.
- Collaborate with surgical teams and healthcare professionals to ensure availability of sterile instruments.
Requirements:
- Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician (CRCST or CBSPD) preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in sterile processing
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques, infection control, and instrument handling
- Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to hospital policies
