Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in Medical/Surgical and Telemetry to join our team in West Burlington, IA, on a 13-week contract. The ideal candidate will deliver high-quality patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. You will work collaboratively with patients, their families, and healthcare team members to ensure exceptional care is provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver patient care for Geriatric, Medical/Surgical, Adult, and Telemetry patient populations.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care.
- Monitor and interpret telemetry strips and respond to cardiac changes promptly.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain professional nursing standards and comply with hospital policies and procedures.
- Float to other non-critical care inpatient units or the Emergency Department if required, based on patient needs.
Unit Details:
- Telemetry Ratios: 1:5 (days), 1:6 (nights).
- Med/Surg Ratios: 1:5 (days), 1:6 (nights).
- Travelers may occasionally float to the CCU if they have critical care experience.
- Every other weekend rotation is required.
- Electronic Medical Record System: Cerner.
Requirements:
- Active RN license.
- BLS and ACLS certifications (required).
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring; a Basic Dysrhythmia test must be passed during the first week of the assignment.
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to float to other units as needed.
