Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) – Psych/Behavioral Health to join our team in Mason City, IA. This contract position requires an experienced RN to provide compassionate care to patients with psychiatric and behavioral health conditions.
Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in a psychiatric setting
- Monitor and manage patient behaviors, ensuring a safe environment
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques when necessary
- Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment plans
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards
Requirements:
- Active RN license (Iowa or compact state)
- Minimum 1 year of recent psychiatric/behavioral health RN experience
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and de-escalation skills
