Schedule: 8 Hours x 5 Days (Monday to Friday, with Weekend Rotation)
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring surgical instruments and equipment are safe, clean, and functional for patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, assemble, and evaluate surgical instruments and instrument sets for quality, completeness, and functionality.
- Determine the need for instrument repair or replacement and facilitate effective sterilization processes.
- Operate sterilization equipment and ensure instruments, containers, and equipment meet cleanliness standards.
- Perform decontamination of soiled instruments, sterilization containers, and equipment following instructions for use (IFUs) and established protocols.
- Correct and complete instrument sets according to current standards, count sheets, and instrument tracking systems.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels to ensure the availability of surgical instruments for case carts.
- Conduct quality assurance audits to maintain the highest standards of service.
Qualifications:
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification is required.
- Experience in sterile processing, surgical instrument handling, and decontamination practices.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of standard sterilization procedures and protocols.
