Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Certified Sterile Processor to join our team in Detroit, MI. This is a contract position requiring expertise in sterile processing to ensure the highest level of patient safety and infection control.
As a Certified Sterile Processor, you will be an essential part of the healthcare team, responsible for sterilizing, decontaminating, and maintaining surgical instruments and equipment. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to infection control policies, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean, sterilize, decontaminate, and assemble surgical instruments and medical equipment following established protocols.
- Inspect instruments and equipment for functionality, cleanliness, and proper assembly.
- Operate and maintain sterilization equipment, including autoclaves and washer-disinfectors.
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and inventory management.
- Ensure compliance with infection control standards and hospital policies.
- Communicate effectively with surgical and healthcare staff to ensure timely delivery of sterile instruments and supplies.
- Troubleshoot and report equipment malfunctions promptly.
Requirements:
- Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician (CRCST or CSPDT) is required.
- Previous experience in sterile processing, preferably in a hospital or surgical setting.
- Strong understanding of sterilization techniques, infection control practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Evening shift availability.
