Civil / Environmental Senior Designer

ARRO Consulting is on the lookout for a highly skilled and motivated Senior Designer to take on pivotal design tasks within our engineering teams. If you have deep expertise in AutoCAD, Civil3D, and a passion for precision in environmental (water and wastewater) engineering designs, this role might be perfect for you!

Key Responsibilities

• Complex Environmental Engineering Design Projects: Utilize AutoCAD to execute detailed process/mechanical design tasks. Responsibilities include development and oversight of process and mechanical design for utility infrastructure including, but not limited to, pumping stations and treatment facilities.
• Hydraulic Structure Design: Lead the design efforts for essential hydraulic structures, including pipelines, reservoirs, and specially designed water storage facilities. Create comprehensive, detailed drawings that encompass all necessary specifications for construction and implementation.
• Software Proficiency and Innovation: In addition to mastery in AutoCAD, contributions to BIM modeling using Autodesk Revit and similar tools will be highly regarded, enhancing our design processes and output quality.
• Leadership in Design Execution: Provide guidance and direction in basic and complex design tasks. Calculate precise engineering grades and accurately determine utility placements based on comprehensive plans and engineer instructions. Mentor junior designers in adopting best practices in CAD operations.
• Estimation and Budgeting: Play a crucial role in construction cost estimation by translating design tasks into detailed budget forecasts. Participate in project budgeting processes, monitor project expenditure, and make necessary financial adjustments to maintain budget integrity throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• Graduate of a relevant two-year technical program or college with a minimum of eight years of relevant experience, or eleven years of experience in the absence of formal education.
• Proven ability to perform and direct complex CADD drafting.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the capability to lead a team through sequences of tasks to meet project milestones.

Location

• This position requires regular presence in an ARRO Consulting office. Flexible remote work options are available under specific circumstances.
