Manufacturing Technician (Rotorcraft Modification Kits)

Primary functions would be manufacture and assembly of rotorcraft modification parts and kits.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Review drawings, and parts lists for accuracy. Notify supervisor to resolve issues.
  • Assemble Mechanical and Sheet Metal Products following engineering drawings, process specifications and work orders.
  • Drill, ream, rivet, fit, countersink, adjust, finish, and inspect part to ensure that specifications are met.
  • Inspect completed parts assemblies for conformance to drawings and specifications and to ensure that final assemblies and detail parts are protected from damage.
  • Ensure that all assembly work meets quality standards.
  • Perform testing and functional checks of assembled products as required.
  • Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
  • Call for final inspection and sign-off of completed tasks.
  • Resolve assembly and documentation problems, report problems to the appropriate lead or supervisor for assistance.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Basic mechanical aptitude to put together work instructions and to assemble parts.
  • Skilled at using a variety of small hand tools.
  • Must be able to use precision measuring devices and perform basic math.
  • Ability to manage several projects concurrently
  • Dependable and self-motivated
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with team members on a regular basis.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or high school equivalency required.
  • Prior experience with engineering drawings a plus.
  • Prefer experience in manufacturing techniques and methodologies.
  • Previous aircraft experience or sheet metal work is preferred.
  • Computer familiarity required

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Noise levels ranging from quiet to extremely loud
  • Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working on the manufacturing floor including, but not limited to, eye, ear, and foot protection
  • May occasionally lift and /or move up to 10-50 pounds

Equipment Used

  • Sheet metal shear, hand brake, roller, belt sander, band saw, drill press, sheet metal related hand and air tools.
  • Employee is responsible for obtaining necessary hand tools to perform duties in a safe, effective, and efficient manner. This includes but is not limited to screwdrivers, ratchet/sockets, drill, rivet gun, etc. Consumables (Drill bits, etc.) are provided.

Compensation
Dependent upon experience and qualifications, included health insurance, paid leave, and retirement benefits.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.17 - $21.58 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
