The therapist is responsible for providing individual, group, and family counseling while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care.
- Facilitate Group Therapy:
- Lead therapeutic groups for individuals in IOP/OP/PHP settings.
- Address topics such as relapse prevention, coping skills, psychoeducation, and emotional regulation.
- Provide Individual Therapy:
- Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions tailored to client needs.
- Develop and monitor individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the client.
- Family Counseling:
- Facilitate family therapy sessions to improve family dynamics and support recovery.
- Clinical Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and timely records of client progress, assessments, and treatment plans.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and state/federal regulations.
- Assessment and Treatment Planning:
- Complete intake assessments and substance abuse evaluations.
- Collaborate with clients to develop person-centered treatment goals.
- Crisis Intervention:
- Provide crisis management and stabilization services as needed.
- Coordinate with medical and psychiatric professionals for higher levels of care if required.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work with a multidisciplinary team, including case managers, psychiatrists, and peer support specialists.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss client progress and adjust treatment strategies.
- Client Advocacy:
- Assist clients in accessing additional support services such as housing, vocational training, or aftercare programs.
- Educate clients on available resources and empower them in their recovery journey.
- Compliance and Training:
- Adhere to organizational policies, state regulations, and ethical standards.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
- Education: Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
- Licensure (Preferred): Licensed in the state of employment (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LMFT, CADC).
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in substance abuse treatment and/or mental health services.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of addiction recovery and co-occurring disorders.
- Proficient in evidence-based practices (e.g., CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs) for clinical documentation.
- Certification in addiction counseling (e.g., CADC or equivalent).
- Experience in evening or non-traditional therapy schedules.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care practices.
