What You’ll Be Doing:
Are you experienced in warehousing? Do you have experience driving a forklift? Do you have an eye for detail and organization? Then we are looking for you! Arrow Distributing is searching for an individual to fill a Full Time Warehouse Worker position. At least 1 year of experience safely operating a forklift is preferable, but not required. The applicant must have a team-focused attitude and experience working with computers. Exceptional organizational skills and at least one year's experience working in a warehouse setting is required. The Warehouse Worker would be responsible for receiving shipments, assisting in processing returns, pulling and packaging orders, putting away and organizing stock, and other various warehouse-related duties.
Essential Functions:
- Putting away POs and transfers on the correct racks using the scanners.
- Pulling items, bagging and tagging appropriately, for transfers to other branches.
- Assisting customers when at the counter and pulling orders.
- Marking materials with identifying information using appropriate method.
- Organizing warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.
- Wearing the proper safety equipment.
- Being cross trained in other warehouse duties.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualification / Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Clerical experience utilizing various computer systems.
- 2 years’ minimum customer service experience..
- Basic computer knowledge. Prefer experience using UPS and Starship.
- Ability to communicate well with all levels of employees, management, and customers.
- Ability to operate a forklift and picker as needed
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to use the WMS scanner system.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move, push and pull up to fifty pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
0-24% - Climbing
25-49% - Standing/Walking, Lifting/Moving, Pulling/Pushing, Bending/Stooping, Working in adverse weather conditions, Working around strong smells
50-100% - Manual Dexterity (use of fingers), Confinement to work area
Requirements
What You’ll Need To Be Successful:
- This is a manual labor job so the candidate will need the ability to lift/maneuver at least 75 pounds.
- Basic computer knowledge. Prefer experience using UPS and World Ship, but not required.
- Minimum 1 year experience operating forklift, or willingness and ability to learn.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
