Arrow Grinding is an AS9100 certified company that has been in business for almost 70 years. We do state of the art machining and precision grinding. We are a leading provider of precision ground & machined components for the aerospace, industrial, medical, semi-conductor, etc industries. Our orders are short run and on equipment such as CNC mills & lathes, CNC cylindrical grinders, Centerless, Blanchard, Surface Grinding, Double disc grinding etc.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Machine Shop Manager to oversee aspects of our customers and production operations. The ideal candidate will have a hands on background in machining and/or precision grinding, excellent leadership & organizational skills, and a proven ability to be customer focused and work with a team.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of department operations:
- Analyze project requirements, prepare accurate estimates, and manage projects from start to finish.
- Plan, schedule, and monitor production schedules to meet customer deadlines.
- Strengthen relationships with customers.
- Ensure all machines are running in accordance with the daily published schedule, and with objectives to meet established targets.
- Resolve production issues and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
- Monitor and control production costs.
- Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Enforce quality control measures to maintain product quality and compliance ith industry standards and specifications
- Develop, implement, and evaluate SOP’s to maintain, troubleshoot, and improve processes related to: Machine maintenance, operator procedures, tooling procedures, etc.
- Actively mentor and participate in the training of machinists & grinders.
Qualifications:
- 10 years’ experience working in a highly dynamic, metric driven, close tolerance manufacturing environment, with responsibilities in machine operation.
- Ambition to own a process and continuously improve upon it.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to be able to work with customers and internal team members.
- Must be able to work in a dynamic environment in which fast response is normal – where lead time is critical on quotes and delivery.
