What are the responsibilities and job description for the Elevator & Lift Technician position at Arrow Lift?

Excellent leadership and problem-solving skills are a must, as the ideal candidate will be able to utilize their troubleshooting & diagnostic abilities in order to install various types of elevators & lifts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Install, service, & repair of residential elevators, commercial LU/LA elevators, wheelchair lifts, stair lifts, material handling lifts, and associated devices
- Work independently (after training)
- Learn & teach new team members
- Multi-task with patience and diligence
- Demonstrate and maintain a clean driving record
- Safety awareness & compliance
- Develop safety code and regulatory knowledge
- Attain licensure/certification in elevator field and meet continuing education requirements
- Operate general computer equipment/devices
- Interface with general contractors and customers directly
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
REQUIRED
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Excellent leadership and problem-solving skills
- Excellent mechanical and electronic skill
- Strong appetite for learning and professional development
- Knowledge of construction methods and practices
- Familiarity with common hand and power tools
- Willingness to travel up to 50% Monday thru Friday (position is based in Union City, CA and most work is in the Greater Bay Area - but occasional overnight travel up to a week-long may occur)
- Ability to lift up to 150 lbs.
- Clean driving record
PREFERRED
- Completion of Technical College (AAS) degree (Electronics Technology, Industrial Automation, Automotive, or Engineering Technology) or equivalent experience including ability to read electrical/electronic schematics and to operate and read a multi-meter
- Experience with circuit boards, PLCs, and DC control circuits
- Familiarity with electronic, electro-mechanical, and fluid-powered (hydraulic) systems
