What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marketing Assistant position at Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre?
The Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre in Arrow Rock, Missouri, is seeking a part-time Marketing Assistant. The theatre is one of Missouri’s oldest professional regional theatres. Each year, more than 33,000 patrons enjoy Broadway-caliber productions created by professional theatre artists carefully chosen from around the country.
The Marketing Assistant will report to the Director of Business Development and will be responsible for protecting and enhancing the theatre’s brand and reputation.
DUTIES:
Create social media posts that are engaging and informative. Track social media statistics and advise on strategy adjustments, new social media opportunities, etc.
Track advertising and project deadlines and submit materials to media sponsors in a timely manner.
Collect cast and crew information for show playbills.
Work with playbill advertisers to ensure their ads are produced or received camera-ready by deadline.
Monitor website and communicate necessary changes to webmaster.
Produce weekly e-newsletter.
Monitor general email and respond or forward messages to appropriate staff on a timely basis.
Schedule with key staff to take cast, crew, and behind-the-scenes photos and videos, being careful to honor union and production rules about what is and is not allowed.
Submit theatre events and shows to media and community calendars.
Produce correspondence, press releases and other materials as directed.
Assist with the planning and implementation of events and programs.
Be present on some performance days to welcome theatregoers.
Represent the theatre at festivals, expos, and other events in the area.
Maintain a professional demeanor at all times with donors, patrons, vendors and colleagues.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· High school graduate with some college credit preferred
· Social media savvy
· Ability to learn unfamiliar software and willingness to consult user guides and tech support for help
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Organized and deadline-oriented
· Comfortable interacting with the public
· A passion for live theatre.
· Able to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND SCHEDULE
The marketing assistant will have their own workspace and will be provided with a desk, computer, telephone, e-mail address, and necessary software, equipment and supplies.
This is a 20-hour-per week position with a flexible schedule that can vary depending on the needs of the employee and the theatre. Occasional weekend or evening hours may be required.
COMPENSATION
The marketing assistant is compensated hourly at a starting rate of $15/hour.
This position is entitled to free and discount tickets for Lyceum shows.
START DATE
Start date can be somewhat flexible but no later than May 26, 2025.
