Our client is a publicly traded business development company investing in middle market companies with over $2 billion in AUM. The Junior Accountant will report to the Controller of the team.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the quarterly financial close and help prepare the reporting of the firm’s 10Q and 10K
- Assist with the reviewing of new GAAP and regulatory requirements including technical accounting research and interpretation
- Work closely with the investment team for the completion of the quarterly investment valuation process for financial reporting
- Liaise with external auditors and tax firms to ensure timely completion of annual audit and tax filings
- Work closely with external auditors and third-party fund administrator for timely reporting of quarterly 468 filings and 1031 filings
- Weekly cash flow analysis and planning
- Assist with the preparation of monthly interest invoices and manage the distribution of all interest invoices to borrowers
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 2-3 years of accounting experience
- Public accounting experience preferred
- Strong Excel skills
- Ability to work within strict timelines and handle multiple tasks
