Our client is a biotech company focusing on research centered around cancer and autoimmune diseases. The Senior Analyst will assist with preparing budgets, forecasts, monthly financial analysis, and reporting, and provide ad hoc analysis for decision-making support.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support business teams in the annual operating budget and periodic forecast processes
- Prepare monthly variance analysis of actuals to forecast and budget, discuss major discrepancies, and understand key business drivers
- Participate in the monthly close process
- Prepare various presentations including monthly operating reviews, quarterly board meetings, budgets, and forecasts
- Support business development by creating business models for possible licensing or partnership deals and new assets
- Identify business process improvement opportunities, develop solution options, engage management and stakeholders to align on decisions
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
- 4-7 years of experience in a finance role
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience required
- Ability to translate US GAAP and finance terms to non-accounting/finance partners
