Job Description:
A Tooling Technician is responsible for:
- Operating lathes, mills or grinders to cut, sharpen, bore, grind, repair or make tools on metal or plastic materials to job requirements for the production process.
- Inspecting, fabricating and finishing tools (i.e., using visual inspection techniques, microscopes, micrometers, automated measuring instruments, chamfering, buffering, polishing, and/or other finishing techniques).
- Reading and interpreting drawings.
- Understanding and performing basic machine maintenance and housekeeping procedures.
- Being exposed to noise, moving mechanical parts, oils/solvents, fumes, and odors that may affect the eyes, ears, nose, throat and/or skin.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- Previous work experience in tool grinding preferred
- Able to interpret instructions both written and oral
- Able to stand long periods of time, occasionally exert push force up to 50 pounds
