Title - Facility Maintenance/ HVAC Tech
Location - Fort Wayne, IN
Hours - 6 AM - 2 PM
Pay Rate - $45/hr.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled HVAC/R Maintenance Technician to join our facilities operations team. This role is responsible for operating, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing all HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and production equipment in assigned facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in HVAC and refrigeration, and be multi-skilled in electrical, piping/plumbing, and facility systems maintenance.
This position plays a key role in reducing equipment downtime, increasing efficiency, and ensuring a safe, clean, and functional work environment.
Key Responsibilities: Maintenance:
- Perform preventive maintenance and respond to repair work orders for mechanical, electrical, and facility systems
- Operate and maintain HVAC/R systems, plumbing, lighting, building exteriors/interiors, and related equipment
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair facility components and production-related systems
- Manage refrigerant inventories and usage
- Conduct regular facility inspections and provide detailed reports
Safety:
- Complete hazard assessments and follow all safety procedures
- Maintain compliance with state, county, and city regulations
- Attend and complete all required safety training
- Ensure work areas are clean and hazards are minimized
- Practice defensive driving when operating company vehicles
Driving:
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and comply with all vehicle safety inspection requirements
Administrative:
- Submit P-card receipts daily
- Update work order statuses in real time using CMMS platforms (e.g., Corrigo)
- Escalate issues to the appropriate contacts as needed
- Attend work and safety meetings as required
- Perform any additional tasks assigned by management
Qualifications: Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 4 years of technical experience in HVAC/R, plumbing, and facility maintenance
- Strong knowledge of HVAC/R systems and equipment design
- Trade school or apprenticeship in HVAC, electrical, or mechanical systems preferred
Skills & Abilities:
- Universal CFC recovery certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs., work from ladders and at heights
- Comfortable working in hot/cold environments and confined spaces
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer proficiency (Word, Excel, CMMS systems)
