Role Overview:
As a Job Coach / Employment Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting individuals with disabilities to achieve their potential within the community.
Responsibilities:
- Provide transportation to and from residences, job sites, and community activities.
- Offer on-the-job guidance, assistance, and coaching.
- Engage in physical support tasks such as bending, assisting with lifts (if applicable), pushing, pulling, reaching, and prolonged walking.
- Assist service recipients in goal setting, documenting progress, and evaluating their development daily.
- Fulfill additional tasks delegated by supervisors.
Required Skills:
- Punctuality and reliability are crucial.
- Strong advocacy skills for others.
- Proficiency in guiding, motivating, and directing individuals.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Basic proficiency in computer and phone usage.
Qualifications:
- Preferred education in social work or psychology.
- Prior experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Preferred training in mental health and first aid.
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license.
- Access to a working vehicle with a clean driving record and active insurance.
- Completion of orientation and annual training sessions.
Schedule:
- Part-time or full-time opportunities available.
- Flexible morning and afternoon shifts.
- Weekly hours ranging from 10 to 40.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
- Signing Bonus: $500 distributed upon meeting specific milestones
- Health, dental, and life insurance for employees regularly scheduled for a minimum of 24 hours per week.
