Identify, engage, and onboard potential volunteers through targeted outreach and networking efforts.
Educate and assist community members, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, and other
stakeholders, in utilizing public transportation systems efficiently and independently.
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, or a combination of experience and education in a related field.
Experience with community engagement. Valid driver’s license.
Needed Attributes: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills and
time management abilities, Proficiency in using technology, including mobile apps and online resources.
The ability to work with diverse groups of people and experience in public transportation or transit
services.
Addtional Comments Duties & Responsibilities:- Assist in the development and implementation of recruitment strategies, individualized and group training programs, and conduct on-site and field training sessions.
- Attend community meetings to promote the travel training program and recruitment.
- Collaborates with supervisor in the development and implementation of strategies for volunteer recognition and retention.
- Works closely with transit staff facilitating the onboarding process of volunteers.
- Performs the onboarding screening and annual monitoring requirements for volunteers.
- Assists in the creation and maintenance of tools and materials utilized in outreach and onboarding.
- Coordinates and performs orientation sessions for new volunteers.
- Serves as a primary point of contact for volunteers addressing questions, concerns, and feedback.
- Ensure that all training activities adhere to company policies and safety regulations.
- Provide instruction on the basics of using public transit, reading schedules, and understanding transit maps.
- Facilitate community outreach initiatives to deliver travel training programs to community stakeholders.
