About the Role:
The Pool Monitor plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all patrons at public swimming facilities. This position involves checking members and guests into the pools, helping lifeguards in enforcing facility rules outside of the swimming area of the facility as set by community rules and regulations. Must be able to communicate community rules to members and guests. Excellent communication skills required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPR and First Aid certifications preferred.
- 16 and older preferred
Responsibilities:
- Monitor pool activities to ensure the safety of all patrons and enforce facility rules.
- Conduct regular inspections of the pool area, including water quality checks and equipment maintenance.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pool area, including restrooms and changing facilities.
- Communicate effectively with guests, addressing any concerns or questions regarding pool operations.
Skills:
The required skills for this position include strong observational abilities to monitor pool activities and identify potential safety hazards. Effective communication skills are essential for interacting with patrons and providing clear instructions regarding safety protocols. The ability to remain calm and composed in emergency situations is crucial, as the Pool Monitor may need to respond quickly to incidents. Most shifts are 10:30 AM - 7:30 PM, occasional need for 1:00 PM-10:00 PM or 5:00 PM-10:00 PM for special events as needed.
