The Radiology Manager works independently with limited supervision and under the direction of the Chief Operations Officer. The radiology manager is responsible for the operational oversight of radiology services, ensuring high-quality diagnostic imaging compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including California Dept of Public Health and Title 22 standards. This role involves managing radiology technologists, coordinating imaging, schedules, maintaining equipment, supporting clinical quality initiatives, and promoting patient safety and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Oversees daily operations of radiology and imaging departments.
Ensure compliance with CDPH, OSHA, and HIPAA regulations.
Supervise, train, and evaluate radiology staff; ensure valid licensure and continuing education requirement are met.
Collaborate with physicians and clinic leaders to ensure diagnostic accuracy and service efficiency.
Develop and manage departmental budgets, staffing plans, and supply inventories.
Maintain radiologic equipment in good working condition; coordinate preventative maintenance and timely repairs.
Implement quality control and improvement programs to support patient care excellence.
Ensure adherence to ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) principles in radiation safety.
Participate in accreditation processes and internal audits.
Requirements:Education/Training
Minimum: Graduation from an accredited Radiology Technology program.
Preferred: Advanced education in supervision and management.
Experience
Minimum: At least five (5) years experience as a practicing diagnostic Radiologic Technologist and at least two (2) years supervisory experience
Strong knowledge of CDPH Title 22, HIPAA, and other CA healthcare regulatory standards.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Certifications
ARRT and CRT certification
