Looking for a motivated and dependable Dish Prep Cook to join our kitchen team! The Dish Prep Cook is responsible for assisting in food preparation, ensuring cleanliness, and maintaining the kitchen’s efficiency. You will support the culinary team by preparing ingredients, washing dishes, and organizing the kitchen to ensure that the cooking process runs smoothly and efficiently.
Requirements:
Key Responsibilities:
Wash, peel, chop, and prepare ingredients such as vegetables, meats, and sauces under the guidance of senior kitchen staff.
Ensure all ingredients are properly stored, labeled, and organized to maintain kitchen efficiency.
Clean, sanitize, and organize kitchen tools, utensils, and equipment.
Operate dishwashing equipment, ensuring proper sanitation and cleanliness.
Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the kitchen, including workstations, counters, and floors.
Assist in organizing the kitchen and prep areas to keep everything easily accessible.
Help stock ingredients, sauces, and supplies to keep the kitchen well-stocked for daily use.
Ensure all health and safety standards are maintained in the kitchen at all times.
Support the team during food service by quickly providing prepared ingredients or helping with other tasks as needed.
Requirements:
Previous kitchen experience is a plus, but not required (training will be provided).
Knowledge of food safety practices and kitchen hygiene.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
Ability to lift and carry heavy items, such as boxes of ingredients and kitchen supplies.
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
Availability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time and work in hot kitchen environments.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must have the ability to walk unaided up and down hills, lift and move items up to 50 lbs. Must be able to bend, stoop and reach above their head. This position demands frequent exposure to the weather. Must be able to work around heat, noise, dust, odors, cleaning agents, etc. Must possess the use of long term and short-term memory.
