Job Summary:
The Maintenance Staff is responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of the resort’s buildings, grounds, equipment, and facilities. This position plays a key role in ensuring that all aspects of the resort, including guest rooms, public spaces, and outdoor areas, remain safe, clean, functional, and aesthetically pleasing. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of basic maintenance tasks and be able to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general maintenance tasks such as plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, and HVAC repairs.
- Inspect resort facilities and equipment on a regular basis to identify and address any issues or maintenance needs.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff, ensuring minimal disruption to resort operations.
- Maintain grounds and outdoor areas, including landscaping, pool maintenance, and waste management.
- Assist in setting up, repairing, and maintaining resort furniture and fixtures in guest rooms and public areas.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure all equipment and systems are in proper working order.
- Keep maintenance areas, tools, and equipment clean, organized, and in good working condition.
- Report major repair or maintenance needs to the Maintenance Supervisor or Resort Manager.
- Maintain safety and security protocols during all maintenance work to ensure a safe environment for guests and staff.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, resort policies, and procedures.
- Assist with other tasks and projects as needed to support the overall operation of the resort.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Proven experience in maintenance or a related field, preferably in hospitality or resort settings.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general maintenance tasks.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and other maintenance equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Good physical condition and ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in specific maintenance areas (e.g., HVAC, electrical).
- Experience in a resort or hospitality environment.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position with varying shifts based on resort needs.
- May involve outdoor work and physical labor.
