Maintenance Technician

Position Title: Maintenance Staff

Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor / Resort Manager
Location: Arrowwood Resort & Conference Centre

Job Summary:
The Maintenance Staff is responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of the resort’s buildings, grounds, equipment, and facilities. This position plays a key role in ensuring that all aspects of the resort, including guest rooms, public spaces, and outdoor areas, remain safe, clean, functional, and aesthetically pleasing. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of basic maintenance tasks and be able to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform general maintenance tasks such as plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, and HVAC repairs.
• Inspect resort facilities and equipment on a regular basis to identify and address any issues or maintenance needs.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff, ensuring minimal disruption to resort operations.
• Maintain grounds and outdoor areas, including landscaping, pool maintenance, and waste management.
• Assist in setting up, repairing, and maintaining resort furniture and fixtures in guest rooms and public areas.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure all equipment and systems are in proper working order.
• Keep maintenance areas, tools, and equipment clean, organized, and in good working condition.
• Report major repair or maintenance needs to the Maintenance Supervisor or Resort Manager.
• Maintain safety and security protocols during all maintenance work to ensure a safe environment for guests and staff.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations, resort policies, and procedures.
• Assist with other tasks and projects as needed to support the overall operation of the resort.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Proven experience in maintenance or a related field, preferably in hospitality or resort settings.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general maintenance tasks.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and other maintenance equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work efficiently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Good physical condition and ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in specific maintenance areas (e.g., HVAC, electrical).
• Experience in a resort or hospitality environment.

Working Conditions:

• Full-time position with varying shifts based on resort needs.
• May involve outdoor work and physical labor.
• Exposure to potentially hazardous materials or environments; adherence to safety guidelines is essential.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
