Job Summary
The Tankerman plays a crucial role in the safe and efficient operation of tank barges and vessels. This position involves overseeing the unloading of crude oil, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining the integrity of the cargo during transit. Currently, we operate five barges and are planning to expand.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor equipment during the loading and unloading processes to ensure safe handling of barges.
- Conduct regular inspections of tanks, hoses and valves to identify any potential issues or leaks.
- Maintain accurate records of transfers and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with team to ensure smooth operations and effective communication throughout the process.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues as they arise.
- Ensure that all safety protocols are followed to minimize risks associated with handling hazardous materials.
Experience
- Prior experience in a similar role is required.
- Strong mechanical knowledge is essential for troubleshooting equipment effectively.
- Experience in customer service or hospitality can enhance communication skills and improve client interactions.
