What are the responsibilities and job description for the ELECTRICIAN I position at ARS Aleut Construction?
POSITION SUMMARY
The Electrician I Performs various electrical trade functions such as installing, maintaining, or repairing equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy. It requires rounded training and experience, usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training experience. The ideal candidate must be able to work an 8-12-hour shift for a customer with a 24 / 7 requirement.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Install or repair various electrical equipment, such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, lighting ballasts, LED drivers, pole lights, or other transmission equipment.
- Work from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications.
- Locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment
- Work standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
- Use various electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments.
- Perform preventive maintenance services on numerous facilities post-wide!
- Exposure to heat / cold, noise, dust mist, and / or fumes requires the ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
- Wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, fall protection harnesses, protective-toe footwear, gloves, hard hats, and hearing protection.
- Work hazards include electrical shock, confined spaces, and noise hazards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
