We seek a talented and experienced Director/Sr. Director, Clinical Contracts and Outsourcing to work hybrid based in our South San Francisco office.

- Support clinical benchmarking and site budget development, escalation, and payment activities for clinical sites, CROs, and clinical vendors
- Develop and implement a robust, scalable, and efficient site contracting and budgeting process and oversight across all studies
- Work with the ArsenalBio Finance, Clinical Operations, and Clinical Data management teams to support financial reporting activities, including reconciliation of clinical site/vendor invoices and payments and contract and budget negotiations
- Assist with full study cost projections, not limited to site costs only, as well as provide support for monthly budget tracking
- Oversee, drive, and manage CRO, site, and vendor contract negotiation activities, escalation, execution, and monitoring while collaborating with the CRO and ArsenalBio Legal and Clinical Operations teams
- Attend study team meetings to oversee CRO site budget negotiation activities and contract execution to ensure successful timeline management of site activation and protocol amendment implementation
- Oversee, drive, and manage CRO governance and vendor performance using metrics and KPIs
- Review site contract trends and invoicing to develop metrics and process improvement
- Ensure clinical programs are executed within the projected budget
- Manage all activities in accordance with applicable ArsenalBio SOPs, FDA, ICH guidelines, and all other applicable rules and regulations.
- Provide ad-hoc reporting, analysis, and project support for contract and budget governance
- Initiate requisition requests for clinical vendors through the internal purchasing system and own and amend the purchase order through the final payment
- Support clinical program teams with long-range planning, scenario analysis, and annual budget planning activities
- Evaluate the business needs of the organization, provide recommendations and set priorities
- Develop processes and infrastructure that are consistent with the needs of the business to deliver the ArsenalBio portfolio successfully
- Stay abreast of internal and external developments, trends and dynamics
- Understand the ArsenalBio portfolio and book of business and ensure agility and preparedness of the team to meet the delivery demands of the Clinical Operations organization
- Assist the VP of Clinical Operations in developing and implementing the strategic vision for the group and assessing this over time
- Establish, develop and maintain optimal relationships with colleagues both internal and external to Clinical Operations
- Hire and manage people as ArsenalBio scales to maximize their capability and further their development while maximizing their contribution toward operational delivery
- Ensure employees are appropriately trained, developed and coached to comply with ArsenalBio, regulatory and procurement standards
- BS/BA degree and 15 years of development/study budgeting, forecasting or financial analysis experience
- Ability to perform complex analysis, draw relevant conclusions, and implement appropriate solutions
- Deep knowledge of clinical operations terms and processes and
- Advanced Excel skills
- Proficient in using Smartsheets, Google applications, and Microsoft applications
- Experience developing and implementing new ideas and solutions to increase efficiency
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, negotiation, and persuasion skills
- Experience working with clinical sites and sponsors is required; working with clinical labs is preferred
- Experience with vendor management & CRO oversight
- Ability to deal with time demands, incomplete information, or unexpected events
- Attention to detail required
- Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Creative and innovative mindset to approach novel problem statements
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies

The estimated base salary for the preferred primary location of the San Francisco Bay area ranges from $250,000 – $285,000. Salary ranges for other locations may vary. Base pay offered may vary based on job-related knowledge, experience, education, and location. Beyond these considerations, we are committed to pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current employees when making any final offers.
