ARServices is seeking a Technical Editor/Classification Reviewer to work in the Fort Belvoir, VA area.
A Technical Editor/Classification Reviewer will join our team supporting the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) Research and Development Directorate (RD). In this position, the candidate will provide Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) to the customer.
A qualified candidate will perform the following duties and responsibilities, but are not limited to:
Minimum active/current Secret clearance is required. TS/SCI preferred.
Required Qualifications:
ARServices is seeking a Technical Editor/Classification Reviewer to work in the Fort Belvoir, VA area.
A Technical Editor/Classification Reviewer will join our team supporting the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) Research and Development Directorate (RD). In this position, the candidate will provide Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) to the customer.
A qualified candidate will perform the following duties and responsibilities, but are not limited to:
- Prepare and review unclassified and classified technical documents, in accordance with DoD Security Classification Guidebooks.
- Submit technical documents for DTRA security review, track them as they go through the classification validation process, and coordinate with the review team and the authors to adjust markings and information as necessary to ensure compliance with DoD guidelines.
- Support development, version control, and quality control of briefings and other engagements with the RD OP Division and other organizations, as directed.
- Provide grammatical and editorial support to technical documents.
- Track, coordinate, and respond to internal and external taskers, some with tight deadlines.
- Fully and effectively collaborate with an existing cross-functional DTRA RD front office team. Assist or lead other front office activities as directed with priority placed on teamwork.
- Assist with all aspects of leadership team (Division Chief and Deputy Division Chief) tasks and key leader engagements such as preparation for Senior Steering Groups, Key Leader Engagements, conferences, working groups and meetings.
- Perform other tasks, as required.
Minimum active/current Secret clearance is required. TS/SCI preferred.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or demonstrated similar competence
- Minimum of 10 years of experience or any equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- Must have executive level communication skills, both oral and written, and working familiarity with document editing and publishing tools.
- Knowledge of and skill in applying grammar, writing, and editing practices.
- Knowledge of readily available sources of information on the appropriate subjects including library resources and subject-matter experts.
- Skills in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel) with associated calendar functionality, SharePoint and workflow platforms.
- Experience with DoD correspondence policies and procedures.
- General understanding of information technology terminology.
- Experience in communicating and working with General Officers/Flag Officers.
- Shorthand or other method of rapid writing ability.
- Familiarity with DTRA as an organization or other similar DoD experience.
